Trump says George Soros used USAID grants to destabilize Bangladesh and other nations

US President Donald Trump has accused Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros of using USAID grants to destabilize multiple nations, including India and Bangladesh.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), an account linked to Trump alleged: “George Soros received $260,000,000 from USAID and used this money to spread chaos, change governments, and pursue personal gain in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, India, the UK, and the US.” His remarks contribute to the growing scrutiny of US foreign aid, particularly as the Trump administration froze USAID’s budget.

Reports indicate that Soros' organizations received over $270 million from USAID over the past 15 years. Trump claims that these funds were used to influence political affairs and create unrest in various countries.

These allegations have intensified the examination of US foreign aid, especially given the Trump administration's decision to freeze USAID's budget. The involvement of Soros' organizations in international political movements has heightened concerns about the US government's role in these activities.
